The Sutter VNA & Hospice Bereavement Program offers individual and group support to those who have experienced a loss. A sliding scale donation may be requested; no one will be turned away due to inability to pay. Schedules are subject to change. Call 650-685-2830 to speak to a hospice receptionist. INDIVIDUAL 1 : 1 COUNSELING

One or more sessions with a counselor can assist sorting through the grief process. Grief assessment is provided including factors which complicate healing, education, self-care support & stress-reduction. Focus is short-term intervention (not therapy) serving as a bridge between active/intense grief and reengagement in community activities. Open to everyone and all types of death; donations appreciated.

GRIEF HEALING SUPPORT GROUP

Weekly group operates on an ongoing basis, designed for adults who want to heal and integrate grief from single or multiple losses, either recent or in the past. Structure includes education, discussion, stress-reduction, music, poetry & experiential approaches, emphasizing opportunities possible in times of change. This is not therapy. Facilitated by Program Coordinator. A powerful process to investigate grief & Its consequences. Call 650-685-2821 to register.

CHILDREN’S GRIEF SUPPORT

Individual 1:1 support is available for children and their parent/guardian, either in their home or our office. Children, teens and families will have the opportunity to learn about their grief feelings and the grief process. PHONE ASSESSMENT/REFERRALS/CONSULTING

Both grievers and professionals are invited. We all are often over busy in our fast-paced culture. Sometimes a brief connection and/or referral to resources can get one going in the right direction. Brain- storming on the phone can often help clarify some of the normal confusion of grief and open up pathways of choice and/or action. Call for information, referral, assessment, consulting, and/or support over the phone. Counselor can refer callers to grief support closest to where grievers live/work.
